Reto Kunz Van-Angelbeek
Artist Statement
Since graduating from the national art schools, Sydney in 1990 I have continued on my personal journey as an artist and have consistently created large bodies of work for exhibitions.
I am a studio based artist, my work is predominantly abstract expressionism, drawing purely from my subconscious bank of imagery in order to produce painting. I am continuously searching for expression form one painting to the next, being fascinated with the movement of paint on the surface. I oscillate between a style of gestural action and figurative painting.
I am concerned with the entirety of the picture, using colour harmonies to complete the imagery. I have lived in Europe and travelled extensively and worked in the health industry. Most importantly it has been my art which has fuelled my search for inner peace and spiritual equilibrium.
