Bega Valley Shire Council Waste Truck Art Wrap

EOI OPEN: Closes 5pm 23 July

BVSC and South East Arts are commissioning original artwork to appear on 8 kerbside waste collection trucks from 2025–2034. We are calling for Expressions of Interest from artists to:

  • Design a high-impact artwork for our new waste trucks

  • A public art project celebrating creativity + sustainability.

We are calling for artists to design an artwork that reflects:

  • Our natural beauty: from mountains to sea

  • The 4Rs: Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

  • A bold, optimistic message about waste and sustainability.

Up to 3 shortlisted artists will receive $2,000 for concept development and the commissioned artist receives $8,000. Your art will be seen right across the Bega Valley Shire!


Headland festival weekend pass 2025

Headland Writers Festival

A celebration of reading, writing, sharing stories and indulging the mind. Across three days in October, the spectacular Tathra Headland will serve as a backdrop to an abundance of author in-conversations, panels, workshops, poetry breakfasts, theatre and music performances.

Giiyong Festival

Olga Masters Short Story Award 2025

The Olga Masters Short Story Award returns in 2025! With the continued support of the Masters family, the Award is managed by South East Arts, in partnership with The South Coast Writers Centre, and Island Magazine. The Award welcomes entries from writers of all ages resident in Australia. Short stories (2000 to 4000 words) on the theme of life in rural Australia.
