Giiyong Festival

A Celebration of Aboriginal Culture on the Far South Coast of NSW - FOR EVERYONE!

22 November 2025: Jigamy, NSW

The next Giiyong Festival will be presented by Twofold Aboriginal Corporation (TAC), working alongside Eden Local Aboriginal Land Council, with support from South East Arts.

This is an exciting new stage for Giiyong and we can’t wait to show you the incredible line up.

Headland Writers Festival

17-19 October 2025: Tathra NSW

A celebration of reading, writing, sharing stories and indulging the mind. Across three days in October, the spectacular Tathra Headland will serve as a backdrop to an abundance of author in-conversations, panels, workshops, poetry breakfasts, theatre and music performances.


Bega Streetlight Festival

Friday, 24 October 2025

South East Arts collaborating with Bega Valley Shire Council and Bega Chanber of Commerce to light up Carp Street with art, music, food and illuminating projections in an annual street festival!
SEA facilitates the arts program as a part of the festival, comprising a shop-front exhibition with 20 photos selected via a judging panel; a Peoples Choice photography competition and a poetry competition celebrating life in the Bega Valley.

Olga Masters award last days 2025

Olga Masters Short Story Award 2025

The Olga Masters Short Story Award returned in 2025! With the continued support of the Masters family, the Award is managed by South East Arts, in partnership with The South Coast Writers Centre, and Island Magazine. The Award welcomed entries from writers of all ages resident in Australia. Short stories (2000 to 4000 words) on the theme of life in rural Australia.


BVSC Waste Truck Art Wrap

BVSC and South East Arts commissioned original artwork to appear on 8 kerbside waste collection trucks from 2025–2034.

We facilitated EOIs from artists to design a high-impact artwork for our new waste trucks that celebrates creativity + sustainability.

The final design by Belinda Rosenbaum reflects our regions natural beauty; The 4Rs — Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle; and bold, optimistic message about waste and sustainability.
