Giiyong Festival 2025: Come to Welcome

Saturday 22 November 2025 | Jigamy, between Pambula and Eden NSW

Southern NSW’s biggest Aboriginal arts and Cultural event, Giiyong Festival invites everyone to gather, celebrate and connect on Thaua Country. “Giiyong” means Come to Welcome in the traditional language of the Elders of the South Coast — an invitation that extends to all who wish to experience the richness of Aboriginal Culture, art, music and community.

Held at Jigamy, between Pambula and Eden, Giiyong Festival returns on Saturday 22 November 2025 with a vibrant program of performance, dance, workshops, markets, food, conversation and storytelling. Visitors can expect a full day alive with colour, rhythm and spirit — where contemporary creativity meets ancient tradition.

This year’s program features some of the best Aboriginal musicians, performers and thinkers in Australia, sharing the stage with talented local artists and important community groups. From powerful live music and traditional dance to thought-provoking talks and hands-on Cultural workshops, Giiyong offers something for every age and interest.

There is plenty for the kids to do including painting workshops, storytelling, music and dance sessions. Walk-in workshops provide the opportunity for everyone to learn about traditional crafts like stone tool-making, weaving, possum skin drums and traditional shellwork. Fireside talks will include Chef Mark Olive – The Black Olive, plus experts in bush tucker and native foods.

Headline musicians including 3% and Coloured Stone, as well as the Docker River Band from the Northern Territory will keep the main stage pumping throughout the day, hosted by celebrities Dane Simpson and Isaac Compton. Expect everything from country and soul to hip hop and desert reggae.

Eight dance groups will bring power to the Bunaan (dance circle), their performances combine song and traditional and contemporary dance to bring meaningful storytelling to the audience. The Dhilwaan Yarkural (Nightfall Dance) where all the groups come together is a powerful and memorable performance.

Beyond the festival, visitors are encouraged to stay and journey deeper on Country — to walk the Bundian Way, join a Yandama on Country experience, support the variety of Aboriginal-owned businesses in the region and explore the landscapes and stories that have shaped this region for thousands of years.

The event is presented by Twofold Aboriginal Corporation in partnership with Eden Local Aboriginal Land Council and South East Arts. It is an event designed and presented by community, for community. Visitors come from all over Australia to attend what has become a highlight of the Aboriginal Cultural events calendar.

Giiyong Festival is a true celebration of Culture, connection and Country — and everyone is welcome. Don’t miss this chance to immerse yourself in one of the world’s oldest living cultures.

Further information and tickets are available now at giiyong.com.au. Tickets are also available at the gate on the day. Giiyong Festival is an all-ages, drug and alcohol free event. Under 18s can attend free of charge.
