2026 Bega Streetlight Photo Competition - now open!

The Bega Streetlight Festival brings together food, music, art and interactive experiences in a celebration that reflects the spirit and creativity of the Bega Valley. This illuminated evening brings our townsfolk out into the streets to celebrate creativity and community.


Bega Streetlight Photography Prize is now open!

Everybody is invited to participate: all ages and all abilities


South East Arts will once again be running the hugely popular photography competition. The theme for this years Photography Competition is "A Snapshot of Belonging".

20 finalist photos will win $400 each and be included in the Bega Streetlight Festival Photography Exhibition throughout Carp Street shopfronts.


There will also be a pop-up exhibition during the festival for all shortlisted photos and a People's Choice Award will be announced on the night.


Entries are now open and will close at 5pm, Monday 24th August, 2026. Entry is free. T&Cs can be found on the entry form.




Bega Streetlight Poetry Prize


The Bega Streetlight Poetry Prize will be once again hosted by Candelo Books on Carp Street during the festival. Poets will be invited to submit poems reflecting on "A Snapshot of Belonging" in the Bega Valley.


The Poetry Prize will be open for submissions in late August. Keep an eye on South East Arts socials for more details to come.

Bega Valley Shire Council, Bega Chamber of Commerce and South East Arts.
