My practice is diverse, spanning a range of styles and media, often characterised by bold colour and rich texture. It's deeply process driven - tactile, intuitive and visceral, drawing on heightened visual processing and sensory awareness. I've exhibited at the Clyde Gallery, Batemans Bay; the Raglan Gallery, Cooma; EscapeARTfest, Ulludulla; and The Gallery, Mogo. I gather inspiration from the environment, the beauty of nature, landscapes, people, and the shared stories that shape place and community. My mixed‑media practice spans photography, drawing, paint, clay, printmaking, fibre, stitch, and assemblage, often incorporating found objects or repurposed materials. I have developed my artistic skills through both formal and informal training. Family and my Scottish Orkney heritage strongly influence my skills how I work, grounding my creative approach in practicality, repurposing, and sensitive observation. An ongoing gallery: The village at Oakland's in Pambula showcases 30 plus of the members art and craft work. The local Sapphire club also displays artwork and provides artists a opportunity to promote and sell their artwork. I wrote my PhD thesis on my father’s experiences as a British Army combat cameraman in WWII and have presented conference papers in Australia and overseas on the ethics and aesthetics of disseminating images of atrocity. She works with handset letterpress and other analogue processes, using found texts or creating original texts by mining media, institutional archives and out-of-print literature for inspiration, often in collaboration with other writers and artists. Her artist books and letterpress works have been exhibited widely and are represented in institutions throughout Australia and overseas. Participants will create sculptures directly in wax and learn about the intricacies of the traditional lost wax casting process. Participants can take home their own sculpture in bronze.
